During a Leadership Learnshop in Autumn 2007, 32 executives met to discuss the topic of leadership in transnational organizations in greater detail. The initial focus lay on the still new task for leaders, which is, to co-establish an in-house, and yet trans-cultural and transnational orientation model, and to be mainly responsible for its cohesion-providing effectiveness. The discussions on this task brought another important issue into the foreground: the leader’s individual position between cultures, religions and nations and thus the issue of inclusion, the active integration of differences, which often appear as unfamiliarity.
The interviews brought together in this book stem form around these encounters. They are accounts from leaders coming from different organizations and different countries, reporting on their experiences in the still young
dynamism of emerging transnational corporate horizons.
